Unleash your creativity! This hands-on, playful workshop invites you to explore drawing, color, and volume in bold, non-traditional ways. Through drawing, collage, and fun exercises, you’ll experiment freely, discover new artistic techniques, and develop your unique creative voice.

Audience

Open to high school students from 15 to 18 years of age from all fields of study. No prerequisites or prior drawing skills required. Intermediate English required.

Program

  • Color

    Explore and reproduce colors from visual references (photos, images).
    Develop color swatches and compare shades.
  • Shape

    Observe and recreate garment shapes and details.
    Apply color swatches from previous exercises to illustrate texture and volume.

  • Pattern & composition
    Create personal patterns using drawing and collage.
    Cut shapes and assemble garments and looks with custom patterns.

  • Body & texture
    Practice observational drawing to explore the human figure and new techniques.
    Dress the figure with textures using print and mixed materials.
    Embrace improvisation and “happy accidents” for unique silhouettes.

  • Attitude
    Create silhouette series using magazine images.
    Reinterpret and modify found images with collage techniques.
    Experiment and improvise with materials and techniques.

Tutor

TutorMaya Belikova is a Paris-based fashion illustrator, designer, and professor with extensive professional experience working with renowned luxury brands and academic institutions.Maya studied fashion design at Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris and solidifyed her expertise in fashion illustration at Central Saint Martins. She began her career at Christian Dior, where she gained valuable insight into the inner workings of the luxury fashion industry. She went on to hold roles as both a fashion designer and illustrator, collaborating with brands such as Guy Laroche, Promostyl, Gianni Nembrini, and Carlin, as well as contributing to projects for prestigious names like MO Fashion Eyewear and Fendi during live drawing sessions.

Building on her teaching experience, Maya founded Maya Belikova Drawing Lab, a creative studio offering workshops and personalized sessions. Through her studio, she helps students push their creative boundaries and enhance their drawing skills.

Certificate

At the end of the program, a certificate of participation in the Summer School is issued to participants who have attended all courses.

Simply fill in the online form and pay the required deposit. Upon receipt of the online form, the application is studied by the Summer School team. Once the application has been accepted, an email is sent specifying the payment schedule for the registration fee balance. If the application is not accepted, the deposit will be refunded.

How can I apply?

On reception of the application form, the application is reviewed by the Summer School team. Once the application is accepted, the participant will receive a confirmation email with the instructions for payment (deposit and balance of the registration fee).

Please note that registration is confirmed only after payment of the deposit.

Fees & Scholarship

Can I apply for a scholarship?

IFM scholarships are available thanks to the generous sponsorship of the IFM Foundation. They are reserved for High-School Summer programs only.

Scholarships are available in a limited number and are need-based. They may cover up to 75% of tuition fees and are restricted to one demand per year and per participant. In case of registration to several programs, one grant only can be given.

Campus

Are travel and accommodation costs included?

Travel and accommodation costs in Paris are the responsibility of each participant.

Practical information

What are the registration procedures for foreign students?

Participants from outside the European Union must ensure, if necessary, that they have a valid visa for France. Upon request and after full payment of the course, IFM will send the participant a letter confirming registration in order to support the visa application. IFM will also send you a visa guide upon request.

Important: 15 calendar days are necessary for consular authorities to treat visa request, sometimes longer in the high season.

If you are non-French you must ensure you are covered by your health insurance during your stay.
