Objectives

• Understand the different careers available in fashion
• Develop creativity by experimenting with different volumes on a dress form
• Create a new garment from recycled materials
• Create volume using alternative construction techniques, without following traditional methods

Program

This workshop focuses on creating volume while developing a new perspective on fashion.

Color × Print
Learn how to select vintage pieces effectively and find harmony between colors and prints. Use collage, patchwork, or layering techniques to create a coherent visual identity in the garment.

Volume
Work on draping on a dress form using vintage pieces to achieve interesting volume on the body. Explore new ways of managing excess fabric without discarding it.

Attitude
Create a piece that expresses a new attitude, a different way of wearing clothing, moving away from traditional codes.

Styling
Once the garment is finished, plan a styling session for a photoshoot to best embody the piece. Make a precise selection of photos to effectively communicate your intentions.

What are the registration procedures for foreign students?

Participants from outside the European Union must ensure, if necessary, that they have a valid visa for France. Upon request and after full payment of the course, IFM will send the participant a letter confirming registration in order to support the visa application. IFM will also send you a visa guide upon request.

Important: 15 calendar days are necessary for consular authorities to treat visa request, sometimes longer in the high season.

If you are non-French you must ensure you are covered by your health insurance during your stay.
