Bags, wallets, belts, luggage..., leather goods can cover many different aspects. From high-end accessories to mass-produced items, it features a variety of production methods. This programme will enable you to understand the challenges of a versatile industry that is often synonymous with luxury. You will experiment with manufacturing in a leather goods workshop and the Fab Lab on our campus.


Open to all above 16 years old. No prerequisites.

Summer School programs may be combined with each other to form longer courses (-10% discount on the second cheapest program).

  • Understand the economic stakes of this sector at the heart of luxury brands
  • Acquire product knowledge of leather goods in terms of leathers, materials, iconic forms
  • Understand the environmental issues of leather and be aware of the alternatives to animal leather
  • Apply personal creativity to the customization of a leather goods product
  • Experiment with the different leather finishing and assembly machines while making customised objects


  • History, brands, iconic products, markets and key issues in the leather goods sector

  • The different finished leathers: names, uses, attributes and their alternatives

  • Buckles and other supplies

  • Translation of the creative universe of each participant through the selection of specific materials and supplies. Iconographic extension. Creation of mood boards

  • Discover a leather workshop and the various leather working and assembly machines

  • Discovery of the Institute's Fab Lab and experiment with laser cutting and 3D printing

  • Experience of saddle stitching

  • Creation of a customised leather tot bag

  • Final presentation of the products created and the storytelling process

How to register

To register, simply fill in the online form and pay the required deposit. On receipt of the online form, the application is studied by the Summer School team. Once the application has been accepted, an email is sent specifying the payment schedule for the balance of the registration fee. If the application is not accepted, the deposit will be refunded.

If the health situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic forces us or you to cancel your registration, you will be able to postpone your registration to 2023, choose an online programme, or be refunded.
