The Global Fashion Management is a part-time course organized in partnership with the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong. With a true international perspective, it prepares high-potential executives for top-level managerial responsibilities in the fashion and creative industries at large.

The Executive MBA Global Fashion Management is an interdisciplinary meeting place for experimentation and reflection on fashion, luxury and the creative industries. The professional maturity and creativity of its participants meet the richness and multicultural ferment of the faculty, lecturers and alumni of Institut Français de la Mode, FIT New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Organised on a part-time basis and taught in French and English, this programme is the only Executive MBA in fashion and luxury management that allows students to pursue a professional career.

Objectives

The objectives of this course are:

Acquire fundamental knowledge of managing an entity in the fashion & luxury sectorDevelop a cross-functional vision of the different missions of the company's employees, so as to be able to define an inclusive and sustainable strategyTake steps towards digital technology and sustainabilityGain exposure to the sector's structural, cultural and intergenerational differencesDeveloping leadership and management skills in a complex international context, including periods of change and crisisIntegrate into the life of an international class, a source of support and professional enrichmentThe programme is structured around three fundamental themes that correspond to the sector's current challenges: digitalisation, sustainability & CSR and the new behaviours of consumers and employees in the sector. Each course addresses one or more of these issues.

The courses are divided into five main categories:

  • Fundamental coursesSector cases/issues
  • Soft skills
  • The final individual or group project, depending on the needs of each participant
  • International seminars taught in English on the respective campuses of the Institut Français de la Mode in Paris, the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University

In order to personalise their business expertise, Executive MBA participants have the opportunity to apply for one of the two optional certificates in common with students from Institut Français de la Mode's other Masters programmes:

  • Entrepreneurship (IFM x AMI Entrepreneurship Prize)
  • Sustainable development (Kering / IFM Chair)

Rhythm

Delivered in the form of seminars lasting 4 or 6 days every three weeks, including lectures and practical case studies, the programme is led by the faculty of the Institut Français de la Mode and external lecturers as well as their counterparts at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Three seminars are held jointly with participants from FIT New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University: in New York, Hong Kong and Paris.

During the year we will be organizing various events so that you can meet us, visit our premises and ask any questions you may have.

Executive MBA graduates fall into three categories at the end of the course:

  • those who start their own business;
  • those who change sectors of activity and hold positions in companies corresponding to their professional aspirations;
  • those who remain in their original company, but with extended responsibilities.

Joining the IFM Alumni Association

The IFM Alumni Association brings together all the graduates of Institut Français de la Mode in design, savoir-faire and management. As a passionate, active and supportive community, it has 4,000 active members in some 60 countries.

Inclusive and participative, it accompanies the career paths and entrepreneurial initiatives of different generations of graduates. It also organizes forward-looking meetings that bring together its network of experts and fashion personalities to discuss key issues and cultural phenomena in our sectors.

Tuition fees for the academic year 2024/2025 amount to 31,000 € including VAT (excluding travel and accommodation costs)*.

Lifetime membership of the IFM Alumni Association: €470

Admissions requirements

  • Undergraduate qualifications: management, economics, political science, law, arts, communications, applied art, engineering, stylism…
  • Four-year degree (professional equivalence possible).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience.
  • Fluent English
