The Global Fashion Management is a part-time course organized in partnership with the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong. With a true international perspective, it prepares high-potential executives for top-level managerial responsibilities in the fashion and creative industries at large.

The Global Fashion Management offers:

  • 14 monthly 4-day seminars at Institut Français de la Mode
  • 3 intensive 10-day common seminars in New York, Paris and Hong Kong /Shenzen / Canton / Shanghai
  • Individual project carried out throughout the program
  • Teaching in English and French

Classes are taught by Institut Français de la Mode faculty and guest lecturers, many of whom are active practitioners in the sector.

Curriculum

The teaching is structured around 7 main units:

  • Finance & Management
  • Digital & Storytelling

The theoretical and practical teaching in the program offers:

  • courses and conferences
  • case studies and workshops to close each session
  • practical experimental workshops
  • contributions from professionals, conferences and visits
  • individual coaching sessions.

Three intensive seminars bring together students and professionals from three continents:

  • New York (late September/early October)
  • Paris (late March/early April)
  • Hong Kong /Shenzen / Canton / Shanghai or Tokyo (late November/early December)

Among the students in the IFM's GFM Executive MBA, some are financed by their companies, others benefit from social plans or negotiated departures, the latter financing their training alone.

Executive MBA graduates fall into three categories at the end of the course:

  • those who start their own business;
  • those who change sectors of activity and hold positions in companies corresponding to their professional aspirations;
  • those who remain in their original company, but with extended responsibilities.

Tuition fees for academic year 2019/2020 are €27,500 (not incl.VAT and not including travel and accommodation expenses which are the responsibility of the participant).

There is also a lifetime contribution to Institut Français de la Mode's Alumni Association: €300.

Grants may be available through an Organisme Paritaire Collecteur Agréé (OPCA in your professional branch) and the CIF (individual training).

Admissions requirements

  • Undergraduate qualifications: management, economics, political science, law, arts, communications, applied art, engineering, stylism…
  • Four-year degree (professional equivalence possible).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience.
  • Fluent English

Some of the GFM Executive MBA participants are financed by their companies, others finance the program personally, and some of them use severance or redundancy packages.
