The Global Fashion Management is a part-time course organized in partnership with the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong. With a true international perspective, it prepares high-potential executives for top-level managerial responsibilities in the fashion and creative industries at large.

The Executive MBA Global Fashion Management is a place of interdisciplinary exchange, experimentation and reflection on fashion, luxury and the creative industries. The professional maturity and creativity of its students meet the multicultural mix of faculty, lecturers and alumni from tInstitut Français de la Mode, FIT New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Organized on a part-time basis and taught in French and English, the EMBA Global Fashion Management is the only Executive MBA in fashion and design management that is compatible with a professional activity.

Objectives

The objectives of this course are :

  • To acquire fundamental knowledge of the management of a business unit in the fashion & luxury sector
  • To develop a transversal vision of the different missions in the company in order to be able to define an inclusive and sustainable strategy
  • Become aware of the structural, cultural and inter-generational differences in the sector
  • Develop leadership and management skills in a complex international context including times of change and crisis

The program is structured around three fundamental topics that correspond to the current challenges of the sector: digitalisation, sustainability & CSR and new consumer behaviors. Each course takes into account one or more of these issues.

The courses are divided into three categories:

  • Management fundamentals
  • Specific courses for the targeted career path, with seminars in the US and China
  • A synthesis project with a consulting firm

The Executive MBA Global Fashion Management provides you with fundamental knowledge in the main disciplines inherent in conducting business and understanding industry issues:

Curriculum - custom courses

In addition to the fundamental management courses, you will have the possibility of individualizing your training course and become an actor in your professional career.

Accompanied by fashion and luxury experts, you will revisit or discover the soft skills that are essential for integrating the tools and codes that differentiate our sector, where sensitivity to creation and agility are at the heart of decision making.

Course structure

Delivered in the form of four-day seminars every three weeks, including lectures and practical case studies, the courses are led by the faculty members of Institut Français de la Mode and lecturers.

Three seminars are held jointly with participants from FIT New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University: in Paris, New York and China.

Executive MBA graduates fall into three categories at the end of the course:

  • those who start their own business;
  • those who change sectors of activity and hold positions in companies corresponding to their professional aspirations;
  • those who remain in their original company, but with extended responsibilities.

Joining the IFM Alumni Association

The IFM Alumni Association brings together all the graduates of Institut Français de la Mode in design, savoir-faire and management. As a passionate, active and supportive community, it has 4,000 active members in some 60 countries.

Inclusive and participative, it accompanies the career paths and entrepreneurial initiatives of different generations of graduates. It also organizes forward-looking meetings that bring together its network of experts and fashion personalities to discuss key issues and cultural phenomena in our sectors.

Tuition fees for the academic year 2023/2024 amount to 30,000 € including VAT (excluding travel and accommodation costs).

The Executive MBA Global Fashion Management can be financed through individual training leave (CIF).

Admissions requirements

  • Undergraduate qualifications: management, economics, political science, law, arts, communications, applied art, engineering, stylism…
  • Four-year degree (professional equivalence possible).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience.
  • Fluent English
