Bringing together designers and SMEs in Europe

Inspired by the designer Charles F. Worth – a pioneer of of Haute couture, the Worth project will initiate partnerships between Designers and Enterprises (manufacturers, retailers, craftsmen, technology companies) in fashion, textiles, jewellery, footwear, eyewear, furniture, fur, leather industries, from different EU member states to create innovative new products.

Partners will be supported to develop the products, define their market positioning, exhibit them at trade fairs or exhibitions and organize IP rights management. Coaching and strategic advice will be provided to the partnerships.

Worth aims to:

  • Create exciting opportunities for new product development
  • Support designers to adopt new techniques
  • Broker new partnerships between manufacturers, artisans and designers
  • Broaden production horizons through contemporary design and technologies

Call for candidates

The Worth project is supported by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise & Industry and financed under the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) which aims to encourage the competiveness of European Enterprises. EURATEX, the European federation of textile industries, also supports this project.

The steering Board will have 10 external professional members including top fashion and product designers, design led brands or retailers, representatives of leading fashion and design schools in the EU, fashion and design opinion formers like design magazines, and other experts, in addition to members of the operational team.
