IFM Ranked France's Leading Fashion School
In its first-ever ranking of fashion schools in France, published on June 19, 2026, Le Figaro Étudiant placed the Institut Français de la Mode at the top of sixteen institutions evaluated, with a score of 17.3 — nearly a full point ahead of the next-ranked school. To establish this ranking, the editorial team assessed three dimensions: academic excellence, international openness, and graduate employability.
Le Figaro Étudiant noted that IFM stands out in particular for its employment outcomes, ranking more than two points ahead of the runner-up on this criterion. Xavier Romatet, Dean of IFM, added: "Six months after graduation, our permanent-contract placement rate for our master's programs stands at 81.8%." He attributes this result to the school's close ties with industry: executives from Chanel, Hermès, and Saint Laurent sit on IFM's board, and students work on real business and creative cases, briefed directly by the studios of houses such as Dior, Céline, Louis Vuitton, and L'Oréal.
