David researches on business strategies in couture and fashion companies as well as collective strategies, particularly those concerning creative cities within the fashion industry. His work explores how the concentration of creative activities in major cities like Paris, Milan, and London contributes to their global dominance in fashion, examining both economic and sociological dimensions such as the role of tacit knowledge, reputation, and authenticity in these urban clusters.
