Xavier Romatet to be Institut Français de la Mode's next Dean.

The Board of Administrators of Institut Français de la Mode, chaired by André Beirnaert, has approved the appointment of Xavier Romatet, who will take up his duties on August 26th.

He will succeed Dominique Jacomet, who has headed Institut Français de la Mode for 12 years and has been appointed Advisor to the President. Sylvie Ebel, Executive Director, will work alongside Xavier Romatet.

On this occasion, President Beirnaert declared: "My warmest congratulations to Dominique Jacomet and Sylvie Ebel for the excellent teamwork that has enabled IFM to become the world's leading fashion management school. The ambition is now to make Institut Français de la Mode the world reference in the field of design, management and craftsmanship.”

A graduate of Sciences Po, with a Master's degree in Business Law and an MBA from HEC Paris, Xavier Romatet began his career in marketing and communications as co-founder of the Directing agency, then Managing Director and co-President of DDB France. In 2006 he became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Condé Nast France (publisher of Vogue, Glamour, GQ, AD and Vanity Fair), a position he held for more than 12 years. In 2016 he was appointed Vice Chairman of Condé Nast International and a member of the Executive Committee. Xavier Romatet was President of the HEC Alumni Association from 2008 to 2011.
