IFM x MANE: Celebrating the Future of Inclusive Beauty & Fashion

On June 26, 2025, IFM and MANE hosted the first Inclusive Beauty & Fashion Day, an international conference dedicated to examining the pressing need for greater inclusivity in the beauty and fashion sectors.

Organised by the Chair Diversity in Beauty IFM x MANE, this event brought together thought leaders, researchers, creatives, and industry professionals for open dialogue, insight, and connection, all focused on catalysing meaningful change:

  • Thando Hopa, South African model, lawyer, and internationally recognized activist
  • Pierre-Julien Bousquet, Group Global Vice President of Talent Engagement, LVMH
  • Thierry Massee, Global Vice President, Coty
  • Dr Aurore Bardey, Professor, Burgundy School of Business
  • Titiana Amunkaké, Product & Brand Expert
  • Haweya Mohamed and Ammin Youssouf, Co-founders, The Colors
  • Sophia Gyé-Jacquot, Founder, Mezel
  • Dr Nacima Ourahmoune, Professor, Kedge Business School
  • Maxime Patte, CEO & Co-founder, @Veesual
  • Dr Phaedra Longhurst, Associate Lecturer, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge
  • Issima Oniangué, General Manager Makeup & Interbeauty Brands, Sub-Saharan Africa Zone, L'Oréal

The program addressed key questions and challenges facing the industry, with sessions on:

  • Changing Beauty: Radical Revolution or Gradual Transformation?
  • What Black Consumers Really See in Beauty Marketing
  • Authentic Representation: From Ideal to Reality
  • Facing the Realities of Diversity: Progress, Setbacks, and Challenges
  • How Inclusive Brands Impact People with Disabilities

Throughout the day, insightful discussions and personal testimonies underlined two key convictions. First, collective action drives change. It is by working together that the industry can inspire and deliver meaningful transformation. Second, education is essential. Raising awareness and fostering understanding lie at the heart of the mission shared by IFM and MANE

Diversity & Inclusion in Beauty Chair, launched by MANE and IFM in June 2024, is dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and redefining beauty standards through research, education, and industry collaboration.
