In this Short Course you will plunge into this fascinating new context and discover young progressive creative independent fashion designers, powerful street wear brands and also a new generation of disruptive fashion designers recently named Artistic Directors for highly prominent historical fashion houses.
Objectives
During this course you will discover 3 different facets of French fashion that define today’s international fashion landscape ranging from young progressive creative independent fashion designers, such as the highly popular Jacquemus, to hugely desirable power street wear brands for instance Supreme without forgetting to address the much talked about new generation of disruptive fashion designers who have been named Artistic Directors for highly prominent historical fashion houses as for example Givenchy, Chloé or Louis Vuitton.
You will be given the keys to understand how fashion movements are generated and how they thrive and reach young generations of consumers thus perpetually staying in tune with social and cultural movements that shape the times and echo with the concept of “l’Air du temps”; which we shall endeavor to understand.

Module #1 – The concept of “l’Air du Temps” and historical perspectives
- Fundamental introductory elements – key notions to understand what drives Fashion and its’ major trends
- How to contextualize today’s prominent fashion movements
Module #2 – Zoom on 4 rising stars
- Parisian independent creative success story brands for example Jacquemus, Marine Serre, Koché or Charles de Vilmorin
- The vital importance of authenticity, being the barer of a specific vision of fashion and implementing a personal & very recognizable creative identity
Module #3 – The reign of Urban/Street wear
- Indispensable brands will be explored such as Off White, Supreme, Stüssy or BAPE
- Street wear brands that fundamentally shape and influence today’s major fashion movements worldwide
Module #4 – Progressive Designers Parisian Luxury Houses
- Essential & disruptive new Artistic Directors for outstanding Parisian historical luxury fashion Houses for instance Gabriela Hearst for Chloé, Matthew Williams for Givenchy or Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton Men
