Online Summer School: Understanding Fashion

The course Understanding Fashion allows you to acquire the basics of a fashion culture, to understand the economic and industrial stakes of fashion and textiles and to meet designers and professionals of the fashion industry.


Open to high school students from 15 to 18 years of age from all fields of study. No prior knowledge of fashion is required.

Summer School courses may be combined with each other to form longer modules (10% discount on the second cheapest program).

Understanding Fashion is a one-week course that includes a wide range of activities: courses, creative workshops, meetings with experts and designers, and virtual visits to exhibitions, showrooms, concept stores or iconic shops.

Course format

  • Live courses with our different speakers
  • Complementary activities (personal work, group work, quiz, ...)
  • Discussion forum during the length of the course moderated by an IFM expert
  • Use of the Microsoft Teams platform
  • Access to IFM's online documentary resources

At the end of the program, a certificate is issued to participants who have attended all courses.

To sign up, fill out the online form. Once the form has been reviewed by the team, an email will be sent to you to confirm registration.

If the sanitary situation related to the COVID-19 requires a cancellation of your registration, you will be able to postpone it to next year or ask for a refund.
