  • you will develop your creativity in the field of clothing
  • you will understand the mechanisms of fashion design
  • you will learn the techniques of design, documentary research and sewing
  • you will gain experience in working with volume and garment codes

The workshop opens with a "padding" session (a technique used by drag queens to modify their silhouette, using foam elements, tights, balls and various padding).

  • documentary presentation of the padding (pictures)
  • research of volumes, work on the silhouette (on a dummy or on oneself)
  • in a playful and spontaneous way, using simple materials (balls, tights, foam...)

Throughout the workshop, photos will be taken to keep track of the silhouettes created.

The workshop is followed by a work on codes and the garment itself.

  • each student chooses a piece of garment / accessory, and an idea of volume. Work on a dummy or from a found object.
  • each student chooses an emblematic piece of garment (parka, suit, shirt, trench coat) and proposes documentary research on its codes.
  • presentation of the idea (drawing, collage, documentary research)
  • volume creation (pattern making by draping) with tape to fix the volume
  • corrections, introduction to the pattern
  • creation of a model / prototype with simple material (sewing machines for those who know how to use them, hand sewing, glue, staples ...)
