Based on the unique learning methods developed over the years by Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, the Advanced Program in Fashion Design and Pattern Making allows you in one year to discover new techniques of garment design and construction which will allow you to hone your skills and prepare you for work in a studio or workshop.

You will discover different 2D and 3D creative processes, such as cutting, collage, shadow, models, or unique creative cutting techniques specially developed by the school's faculty in collaboration with professionals from Parisian companies. You will practice high level pattern making by moulding or flat cutting. You will develop flou and tailor study pieces allowing you to master all the main assembly techniques (skirt, bodice, jacket, trousers, kimono, etc.) as well as personal mock-ups.

This intensive and specific one-year program is organized around notions of fashion design, garment quality, comfort and fit. It prepares fashion students for careers in fashion, particularly in activities that interface design and production.

This course draws on the specific methods used by the biggest Parisian couture and luxury fashion houses.

The teaching is based on a reinforcement of creative and technical skills, through traditional craftsmanship and high-level draping and pattern-making.

Practice draping/pattern-making at a proficient level (complex structures, bias cuts, draped fabrics…):

  • Learning different approaches corresponding to the specificities of renowned couturiers and designers, not from a purely aesthetic approach but from a structural perspective: studying the characteristics of the designer, updating and then elaborating personalized design files, making patterns, making a sample in muslin, making study pieces in fabric.
  • Designing personal product lines based on a set theme and implementing all the different stages from design to the finished prototype.

The course ends with a 6-month internship.
