For the start of the 2020 academic year, IFM will be adjusting its reception protocol in strict compliance with health safety rules.

Teaching will be delivered both by distance learning and on campus. Institut Français de la Mode strives to guarantee all its students, including those who will be geographically distant, pedagogical continuity for all and to provide each student with personalized support, both pedagogical and technical.

Candidates / Registration at the start of the 2020 academic year:

For the start of the 2020 academic year, IFM offers distance learning and on-campus teaching: students who have difficulty coming to France will therefore be able, within the limits of the feasibility of the subject taught, to start the program with distance learning courses, then return to the campus as soon as the situation allows it.

Students in the current graduating classes of certain programs, particularly those in fashion design, will continue their studies from Monday, August 24 to Friday, October 2.

The new intakes and students in the upper year will begin their studies from mid-September to the end of October, depending on the program.

Each student will be informed by the student office of his or her programme of the terms and dates of the start of the academic year.

On campus, the following rules must be strictly respected:

  • Wearing a mask is compulsory for everyone (students, faculty, staff) in all the premises of Institut Français de la Mode: each student must come with his/her mask: access to the classrooms will be forbidden for those who are not wearing a mask.
  • Respect social distancing whenever possible: 1 metre distance between students, respect the direction of traffic in the premises marked out on the ground.
  • Regular hand washing with hand sanitizers that will be available in many places.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or into a handkerchief.
  • Greeting without shaking hands, avoid direct contact.
  • Use disposable tissues.
  • Respect the rules of the 14-day quarantine imposed by the public authorities if you come from a country where France requires them.
  • Provide a sworn statement of compliance with the conditions required by the public authorities depending on the country of origin (quarantine, test).

Following announcements by the President of the Republic, Institut Français de la Mode will be closed to all students from Monday 16 March until further notice.

During this period, the school will continue to operate for its staff and academic teams, who will liaise with students and candidates.

Course and online teaching solutions adapted to each program will be implemented as much as possible to ensure the continuity of the curriculum. Students will be informed individually in the coming days. The evaluations and end-of-year juries will be adapted to the circumstances so as not to penalize the students' progress.

Institut Français de la Mode’s other activities, including executive education, are maintained.

For candidates, Institut Français de la Mode guarantees that all eligible candidates will be able to take their interview or test remotely, or reschedule should they wish to do so. We will adapt the admission sessions (number, dates) according to the evolution of the situation.

We strictly follow the instructions given by the authorities and do our utmost to guarantee the safety of all, while maintaining academic continuity as much as possible.
